UKPC ticket

Hi All,

I'm new on here and wanted to share this bizarre exchange sorry if its long winded.

I got a UKPC parking charge in a retail park a couple of months ago for failing to display a valid blue badge (I am a disabled woman but the badge had run out of date)

Anyhow I'd ignored a few letters but started getting nervous about it. I rang the store and asked who owns the car park - they don't know but I'll keep pressing on this. They gave me a phone number for UKPC last week which I called. Got a man on the phone who said '....Ello?' when he answered so I said 'I think I've got the wrong number'. Rang the store again today to be told the same number. Rang got 'Ello... '

I said who is this please?
'UKPC'
I explained that I had been given a ticket....
He asked how I'sd got this number it wasn't the office one?

I said store had given it
I asked about the car park owner - he wouldn't trell me wo owned the car park
He said put it all in ewriting
I said no can I have the office number
He said this is the only number you need they'll all say the same anyway
I askled what his role in the organisation was
He said he works there same as everfyone doing the clamping and that
I said can I have office number again
He said no put it in writing
I said that would be difficult -
he said get someone else toi do it!
I asked for his name
He said Gary
I asked for his surname
He said only Gary there is
I said there's only one Gary in the whole organisation!

He said yes - put in in writing Bye
and put the phone down on me!

Is it me or is that bizarre for a supposedly professional company.

Was half crumbling but back angry now - have rung the store to complain - supervisor said she'd heard that you don't have to pay the fines

The advice is always to ignore Private Parking Companies, they have no legal basis for their charges and what you have is speculative invoice.

You have done well so far ignoring them, so just continue to ignore them... don't contact them again.

As for the 'professional company' they are only professional at one thing... trying to take the money out of your pocket.

Read the sticky threads above and understand how these PPC's work and just go back to ignoring them... nothing will happen and you have no right of appeal... there is no appeal process!

Professional? They're low life clampers with a desk job that's all.

You have probably been given the garden shed contact number rather then the portakabin. Professional they would not know how to spell it!

Just carry on ignoring them. The validity of your blue badge has got sod all to do with them!
