I did get notifications of course but they were 20 pages long and you had to be a Philadelphia lawyer to understand them! i am not mathematically minded and trusted that as I had given them the information, they would make the correct calculation...probably naive I know!
you're not the only one who finds these things too long and complicated."If you don't feel the bumps in the road, you're not really going anywhere "

Indeed! Just before summer I signed on JSA for 3 weeks, before getting a second job. It's taken until now for them to sort everything out. Yesterday I got 7 envelopes with approx 6 pages of figures in each one, supposedly detailing what I earn and what they pay etc.
I had to ring them in the end to find out the end figure, because none of it made sense.Moving onto a better place...Ciao :wave:0 -

siince they changed the housing benefit rules, it has been a nightmare. my council want every one of my son's wage slips, as he earns a different amount each week.and they collect them every 3 months. So at the end of the 3 months i end up with rent arrears, even if my son was paying the amount they asked for in a statement from them. I thought once you paid for something, they couldn't charge you a different price. apparently local authorities can.0

Tax credit information only comes to the council from 4 July this year Jojo
This is LA error but recoverable as they sent you letters which showed the income. If you dont understand them, you need to ask.
Unfortunately, as a team leader I would take a case to tribunal on what youve said but would urge you to apply for a reconsiderationI currently manage a Housing Benefit service and have been working in Housing / council tax benefit (as was) since 2001.
