hi.. i have a small bottle of red wine... that i bought ....i dont drink wine.. but with the tescso points vouchers... i gained by buying the wine...
anyway....i have frozen chicken portions in the freezer.....so i thought i would try chicken and red wine casserole....
so does this sound the right way to do it..... gently fry garlic onions.... ..
rolled the chicken peices in seasoned flour... then add to the frying pan to seal/brown.....
once the chicken is sealed removed the chicken to a caserrole pot.. and add red wine to the frying pan and.. then add to the casserole pot with the onions....
and what ever veg i have lying round add to the pot... and add water then place in oven and forget it for a few hours....
oh.. ye and also do bread and butter pudding... and rice pudding... as the oven is on anyway..
does that sound ok.. i normally do this with beef..but without the red wine.... but i only have chicken in freezer...
or have you got any other ideas....

Chicken in red wine works well, though the sauce is quite rich - so it's best to serve it with plain veggies etc because it doesn't need anything else fancy.
You could adapt St Delia's recipe here to suit:-
