Wing Mirror Glass Repair and Scratch Damage - DIY repair advice?

Hi, I will try not to swear, but some extremely inconsiderate "person" drove into the side of our car scratching/denting the whole side and damaging wing mirror. We didn't see it happen and no-one bothered to stop or leave a note. Still fuming! Not worth claiming through insurance as car is old with high mileage. We've…
