I've just been badgered into joining Facebook, & I'm thinking it's a mistake.
I can get into my Facebook page, but although I've managed to send posts to my Friends, I never get any replies (even offering a paid for lunch). How do I find if anyone's replied?
Also I keep getting "Notifications" to my e-mail address, but again I go onto Facebook & find nothing. What am I not doing right?
Please keep any answers simple as I'm not stupid but I'm certainly not that IT literate either.

Facebook is a difficult topic to just describe so I would suggest you view the Facebook Help Guide which should point you in the right direction.
As for your unanswered posts to friends, this could be the symptom of a problem or it could just be that your friends haven't logged in recently. Did you set up your profile yourself? (if so, well done, you don't really need us) - it may be that your privacy settings are a little too strict (restricting posts to yourself only) have a look at the privacy section of the guide for details on how to change this.
As for your notifications - they appear at the top left of your facebook homepage (it's the little globe icon) click that and it will list your most recent notifications and highlight any that you haven't previously viewed - click on a notification to be sent to its subject.
Seriously - Experiment and read the guide and you'll pick it up in no time.P.I.C.N.I.C problem: Problem In Chair, Not In Computer0 -

I did set up my profile myself, as I have no-one to really ask (husband is really technophobic- can't even send texts on his mobile)
I'm going to try doing what you suggest about the globe icon. I've read the Facebook guide, but it didn't make a lot of sense to me.
I printed off "Newbie's Guide to Facebook" but have found this hard to understand. Told you I wasn't that IT literate!
Think I'll take your advice a re-read Facebook guide
Thanks again0 -
There's a lot to take in with facebook, its overwhelming at first, however with patience and determination you'll be fluent in no time.
Also, there's no substitute for having someone actually show you the ropes, so if you have a techy friend or family member, it might be worth bribing them with a cuppa (and some cake, geeks lurve cake) in exchange for them showing you around.P.I.C.N.I.C problem: Problem In Chair, Not In Computer0
