Yes i do see the DD guarentee on back of bill, it also has info about data protection act, about holding and sharing of info with an email address, I might email them asking about my bank details.
They guy at the bank did not say anything about claiming the money back from the council? he said they had refunded the money back to my account and taken my word for it that i knew nothing about DD and that it was down to me to contact the council now?0 -
As long as the money is back in your account you're sorted. The rest of it is all just standard back office stuff between the bank and the council and nothing for you to bother with. You might want to check with the Council that the DD is now cancelled too so it can't be used again. You are still supposed to pay any charge until your benefit claim is sorted so take careful note of any amounts or due dates on a new bill - you could ask the council to "hold" reminders whilst they asses your claim. Then if you still need to pay something, just set up a new DD.0
