Heart Bypass

Hi My husband is due to have a heart bypass and will be off work for 3 months. I will need to take a little time to nurse him at the start. I am selfemployed and cannot guarantee what income I will have, his company only pay one weeks sick pay ( which is hard to calculate as he sells cars and has a basic + commission) . We are finding it bloody tough as it is . What help , benefits etc can we claim. Hes 62 I'm 54 we already have an agreement to pay of credit debts! Help !

    He should be able to claim SSP and if you rent you may get some housing benefit. You will probably also have to speak to your creditors and come to an agreement re debts

    Any means tested benefits will be affected by whether you still own your investment property.
