Wonder how much the 4 will cost when the 5 comes out in Feb 2012?

AFAIK there will be no 5 in Feb 2012.. they have just released the 4S so will be quite a while before they update again.

Was this an iphone 4 or 3GS? I can't see it on their site.

you need to change the data to 100mb to get it £13.50 from £16.50 can only get it on a 24 month contract as it is £18.50 on an 18 month contract at the moment
    dont forget quidco or topcashback

I'd be more concerned about only having 8GB it sounds a lot but a bit of music some photos and all your apps and it soon goes, it'd be ok for "light" use but even with 16GB in my phone I get a little close to the limit sometimes esp with 1080 HD video recording but at least I can supplement that with a MicroSD card, not an option here but I suppose if you're after a low cost tariff with nothing down you've nothing to lose...

I don't use above 4GB on my current phone, and that's with all my music and some photos - what have you got on yours? ;)

Like I said some music, apps and I record at 1080 so it soon munches up the space on the phone not to mention satnav app thats 500MB plus gone, Mushrooming database another 400MB you'd be surprised how it gets gobbled up and no there's nothing even remotely dodgy on there lol, email plus attachments, documents i've got stored on there PDFs etc I even have an app that hooks into our CCTV system and lets me view the cameras remotely.

It's not even that much music considering my music collection is about 50GB(ish), like I said it'd be ok for someone starting out or who doesn't want to carry a lot of music around with them etc but for anyone else you're going to find that 8GB restrictive before long and making compromises to accommodate it.

I got my phone for £149 down then the £13.50 a month (now £10.50 after knocking the data off) and got £50 cashback quidco and £150 back for my "old" phone so covered the up front nice and easily.

Thanks for that. What are o2 like to deal with?

I wouldn't mind going for this, but never had a contract phone before.. are contracts quite easy to get, I think my credit history is not that good.

So basically £509 for a way out of date piece of hardware.. hardly a great deal is it?

How is 500 quid over 2 years with small installments for an iphone not a good deal? Mental comment.

We've never had a problem with the service and the few times we've had to phone for help/advice, they've always been fine.

Around here at least, Orange and Three are not well thought of!

I am on O2 and am really pleased with their service. Friendly staff at a UK call centre is a good start.

You also get Priority Moments which gives you advance bookings on most major concerts (Red Hot Chilli Peppers today!) as well as deals at restaurants like Ask just by using an app on your phone. Also got £5 off a £20 spend at BHS, again just by showng the app on the phone.

As mentioned earlier the 3 deal is good for medium usage, whereas the O2 deal is for very light usage (or get a Giff Gaff SIM - these work on O2). I think you can cancel data completely (so £10.50 pm) and then get a £10 Giff gaff SIM which gives high usage (can't remember exactly what but I think unlimited text and data)

It's outdated hardware, if you're happy to pay over the odds for it for the next 2 years then go for it.

You could probably get a contract for not much more than this one for either a 4 or 4S.
