Web site not displaying

I normally use Firefox as my main browser. Suddenly a site I use gives the error message:Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10.0 error '80040e37'

I Googled the error and results point to a server issue at the their end. But, the site works normally when I visit from a friend's laptop. Any ideas?

  • Would help if you gave a link to the site in question.

An SQL error is going to be a server side issue but there are a number of possibilities:

    1) bad luck its only impacting you
    2) one of you is only seeing a cached version
    3) a variable being passed by the browser to the server is working on their computer but not on yours
    4) you are calling slightly different functionality of the site and its that functionality that is broken (eg they're viewing it as a guest and you;re viewing it logged in but logged in users are supposed to see an extra table)

Obvious things to try are to clear cookies and cache on both machines. Ensure your both doing the same thing (eliminating 4). Try a different browser on your machine.
