Lloyds TSB / Lifestyle Insurance - changes to policy. Where do I stand?

Options
Hi

Having trouble with making a claim on my insurance and would really appreciate some advice if possible please.

I just tried to make a claim online for a phone that I dropped and smashed.

I was told that the excess would be £100.

I remember getting a letter off them recently saying it would increase to this after November 2nd 2011.

I just double checked on their website and it basically confirms it:

http://www.lifestylegroup.co.uk/lloy...icyExcess.aspx

I told this to several advisors (after being on the phone to 0845 numbers for the best part of an hour). They said that because my account is a silver account that these changes had been made already in April and that I would have to pay the excess of £100.

However I was not informed of this. I only got the letter stating basically what is on the website link above a few weeks ago. It does not specify between silver / gold / platinum account.

Does anyone know if I have any rights on this at all please?

Thanks

Nish
