So that I can avoid using the site for the proper period...

Can you please tell me when you will be putting the Poppy on the site this year.

Approximate time/date when it starts and stops will be sufficient.

    they're - 'they are'

I don't think he's seeking attention but rather drawing attention to the topic - not exactly a bad thing. That is how we facilitate change. No need to be abusive to someone who feels about something they strongly believe in and posts in good faith.

The Daily Mail newspaper is running a campaign, demanding that Premier League football teams have a poppy embroidered onto the shirts they wear this weekend.
that's ^ one group of folks

    then there's another camp:
people are divided on this and it is going to be more of an issue than before; no one person is unique in this respect and for that reason no need to outcaste them

if they feel strongly about it they can log on, see the poppy and log off. Wanting to know when it starts so they don't have to look at a poppy is just attention seeking, probably so somebody will ask why they don't want it.

sure gypsy, that's one way of dealing with an issue but not the only way

So what, it's a topic worth speaking about surely? Isn't this whole thing about the freedom we're supposed to be remembering and romanticising about? I shall leave it here on that note but I should say that I'm lost as to why people cannot post here on a feedback board where site related questions are invited and yet cannot escape ridicule.
  • I have to disagree.

Of course I can. But only if you can tell me when wooly hat wearing dreamers will be demonstrating and costing the public a fortune next. I lost some of my family and good friends who fought for the likes of you. Sadly I sometimes think their sacrifices were in vain.

I'm truly sorry for your loss, but isn't that statement rather presumtuous? I'm not aware of any war in my lifetime where anyone has fought 'for the likes of me' or in my name and nor am I aware of any war in my lifetime which has threatened the security of the UK.

Attention seeking? If I were attention seeking why would I put the thread in the quietest part of the forums?

No, I simply want to avoid using the site seeing as it is the season of 'if you dont wear a poppy you are a !!!!', and I can easily do without visiting the site for a few days.

I'd appreciate it if the staff could answer the question then lock the thread for all I care.
