We did this last year the children loved all the attention in 1st class I have booked for Feb I wished I remembered. Although maybe 1st class is a bit dearer this time as you have to pay full price for the kids0

Any ideas what time the online booking opened? Is it midnight or later. Anyone book last year. I'm after taking my mother to London for a mother's day present but we want to get decent timed trains from Manchester.0

I didn't see the bit about full price for the kids. Would it be cheaper to buy them an adult offer ticket then?
I want to do London to Edinburgh for half term. Am I too optimistic!0 -
Yes double check the small print last year it said no concessions or something so you had to buy an adult offer ticket that's what I meant and obviously if you have one under 5 you don't pay at all so I have 1 over 1 under so just bought 2 offer tickets and eat lots of food!!
I think you might get half term if you book asap as they were available last year in the first few days-book asap even if you don't have your tokens. and for Lodon/edin -worth trying different cos ie virgin/gner.0 -
Oohh! it's starting to sound complicated. Don't think I can book it yet. Can I look up rates etc? I'll have to give it a bit of time on the web, all useful tips gratefully received!0

I can't find any from Banbury to Leeds. Even if I do Banbury to B'ham to change there are no 1st class available.
Not as good as last time. I could have my pick before.0 -
Just booked myself a 1st class return nottingham to york for £18.40...BARGAIN
Its rediculous that 1hr30 in 1st class of a virgin train cost me only 80p more than the 30 minute connecting service on central trains
