this is my favourite lol I do hope that he replaced the cornetto once you got back home!! lol xxHow romantic :smileyhea
Did you eat the cornetto?!?!
It was quite strange because it was boiling hot and he was so certain that we had to get a cornetto at the fountain, I would have had one anywhere and for such a huge fountain it's really hard to find! So half an hour later we're still trying to find this blooming fountain. He bought our ice-creams and went to sit on the steps.
He was eating his really slowly, then turned and presented me with a ring made from him nibbling his cone.
He placed it on my finger and..................well what would you have done? I went to eat it! When it was in my mouth he told me to take it out so we could at least get a photo of the 'original' engagement ring. Which we did. And then I ate it.............
And yeah, it was replaced when we got home :TForty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -

I proposed on 10th December 2010.
Originally, I was going to wrap the ring up as a Christmas present, but once I'd bought it - I couldn't wait that long!
I'd bought a cheap ring from amazon which was very loosley based in the real thing.
After a long day of study and work we were relaxing with a Chinese takeaway and it just seemed right to do it then.
I gave her the Amazon ring and explained that it was all I could afford right now. I said that money doesn't matter and would she marry me. She said she liked the ring and of course she would.
I kept asking if she liked the ring and that I would get her a proper one at some point in the future.
She kept saying she did like it and she didn't want to change it!
I eventually caved in and gave her the real ring. She says she was relieved and didn't know what else she could say regarding the other one!
A little disappointed that I forgot to get down on one knee, but I can't change that now.0 -

The 'unofficial' proposal was on a train going back home after spending a great day together when OH asked my son's permission and then said we'll need to go shopping at the weekend and then he asked me (in a very quiet voice) to marry him! :j
I chose the ring that weekend which I wore for a day and then he duly asked for it back for him to keep
The 'official' proposal was 2 weeks later in Paris at the top of the Eiffel Tower at night. It was absolutely packed but we found a little spot where he got down on one knee and proposed with the ringI knew it was coming but I was in floods of tears and of course said yes :j

Aww I love these stories
Mine was in Venice, we had gone on a short break for his birthday. On the last evening he was acting very suspiciously and kept saying he wanted to explore all of Venice one last time. We literally walked round for hours!!!
By 10 o clock (we'd been out since 5) I started to get a bit naggy(I was starving) , we were just wandering in the middle of nowhere. At which point he took me down this really random deserted back street with gorgeous little bridges over the canals. He asked if I'd had a good day. When i said yes he replied well I hope this makes it even better.
Under the moon and stars on a very pretty little bridge he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! 7 months on I still look down at my ring and grin, I feel so lucky!
My favourite part of the engagement story is that by the time he actually proposed I wasn't hungry anymore, or too happy to eat anyway! (Turned out he'd been looking for a bridge to propose on with no-one around - for anyone who's been to Venice we crossed a LOT of bridges until we found the right one!) So we went back to the hotel and celebrated with the most disgusting slice of take away pizza I've ever tasted and a bottle of coke zero0
