child trust fund???

my daughter was born before the child trust fund came about - 1998

but i want to set up something similar for her ?

does anyone know of anything similar i can open?

    The Children's Mutual have a long term savings plan for older children: see here. We opened one of those for our son since he was born in 1999, and as its tax-free, it should perform well :)

    I did the same for my son who was also a 1999 baby. Fingers crossed they do well.

    I don't know how good they are as a savings scheme but it seemed the right thing for us at the time and reading the literarture it seemed a prefered option to us than just putting the money in a building society where we could get at it which wasn't what we wanted
