iTunes, multiple apple devices and computers - advice

Hi all,

I'm treating myself to a new iPhone and have a few questions regarding sharing itune purchases between people and devices.

I dont currently use itunes, so this is why my questions may seem obvious to you seasoned apple users.

When I purchase music on itunes will I be able to share my purchased music/videos across all the devices in my house - my iphone, my laptop, my gf's ipod and my gf's laptop?

When I set up my itunes account is there a way that will allow me to "have/share" my purchases with my girlfriend and vice versa so we don't have to duplicate all our purchases?

Thanks

By far the easiest way to do this if your happy to pay your girlfriend for the purchases you make or vice versa is to just share an iTunes account and use it on all device and both iTunes, you just need to authorise the account on both computers. If necessary you can setup a separate account just to use apple services such as iCloud.

There are other options but it gets very complicated as you need to manually login/logout of each others accounts to download each others apps and also remember two passwords for when the apps purchased by your girlfriend that are installed on your phone need updating.

Nah, that actually gets more complicated, trying to keep two devices separate with the same iTunes account.

OP -when you make a purchase via iTunes, you can get the right to authorize up to five other computers to legally use the same app/music download. There's a video showing you how to do it here:
