Alert: Sri Lanka Airport

If u are spending time in Sri Lanka Airport remember that u can get ripped off if you try to pay in pounds.

I tried to buy a cup of coffee which was quoted a $1 on the board and they wouldnt accept anything less than a pound . I argued that a pound is almost double that of a dollar to no avail.

Same with the duty free which has really good deals on booze:p (much cheaper than UK airports !!!!. Dont buy any booze from heathrow. thats another thread!:p )The duty free also gives a bad exchange rate for Pound. I think you lose around 8%.

Best bet is to carry some USD with you ( esp 1$ bills).

So convert some GBP to USD before you leave the UK.
