Very pleased as ordered the vintage cheddar with my home delivery shopping but they had run out and sent the Pilgrims Choice Mature instead @ 3 x 350g for £3.07!

The following are now each B1G2F at Tesco until November 22:
Napolina Fusili Bronze Pasta 500G
Napolina Penne Rigate Bronze Pasta 500G
Obviously this still works out pretty expensive, but it is high quality stuff.

Sorry to be a misery, and I'm not saying I'd never eat them (not sure I'd feed them to my kids though), but there really is a lot more to food than price, unless you're desperately hard up. And it's surprisingly easy to make your own mincemeat and mince pies, if you have just a little time. Instead of putting preservatives in them, freeze them (baked or unbaked).0 -
Hi,
Thanks for the info re the cheese offer.
We've just ordered the Pilgrims buy one get two free online - just a quick question about freezing it as I saw others had mentioned doing this earlier in this thread. Does it freeze well/defrost okay and the flavour/consistency isn't affected? Sorry to be dim but never thought of freezing but with this deal it would be worth doing. Many thx.0 -

Cheese does freeze. However, when defrosted it's very crumbly so almost impossible to cut good slices. It's best to grate it before freezing then it's fine for things like sandwiches, cheese on toast, cooking etc.0 -

I freeze the cheese grated and its fine! i froze a smaller whole block from the deli counter and it was harder to grate, so i would grate and freeze in ziploc polybags. ive also frozen grated parmesean and its been great.
We are a small family and cant eat it quick enough before its gone off. This way we dont miss out on the bulk buy deals! :jSealed Pot Member 1269VSP... TO UPDATE!
