  • I think it might only be for new customers which rules me out anyway. Might have to get hubby an advantage card and register him with Boots Online to get this deal but then it is for his birthday so I'm sure he won't mind!

I'm assuming that the GT4 and PS2 will be that price?

Am still deciding whether to get the PS2 at the £84 price quoted in the earlier post. One thing I'm aware of is that there has been many posts on here and perhaps elsewhere that the slimline version has a tendency to over heat as opposed to the chunky older version. Is this correct?

Sony must have been aware of this and have they now rectified the problem with the later versions coming off the assembly lines? Similar to X-Box cable recalls?

    Thxs

I've had the slimline version xmas and had no probs with it overheating so far.... and its been on loads!!!

you could always get the £84 one and then Buy 4 cheap crap games from Gamestation @ £2.99/£3.99 each and trade them at GAME for GT4 and 99p.

    Total cost = £84 + £16 (4 Crap Games) + 99p = £101

A bit of hassle but could be even cheaper if you get £2.99 games.

    That's an interesting thought there.

Just one wee problem, the nearest Gamestation shop is about 60 miles from me and by the time the journey cost is added etc. it will work out rather expensive you think?

The only other way is to scrounge through the local press for PS2 games for sale cheap?

    Thxs 4 that tho'

might give you a hand in getting some cheap games to trade.

As i wouldnt have thought the offer for £84 will last much longer.

    Hi Andy

Thxs 4 the link. Just one question - the PS2 is for my 11 yo daughter for her birthday in June and the GT4 may be a tad overwhelming for her to play with.

As you said, it may be prudent to just get the console only and then scout around for better deals in between now and her birthday?

Argos is selling the PS2 with GT4 plus free steering wheel for £129.99. If you spend over £100 before 22nd March you will get a £10 gift voucher, reducing the cost to £119.99

That Argos offer seems pretty good - steering wheel offer expires 18/03/05. Does anybody know what steering wheel it is?
