e-cheque... how long to wait?

i recieved a payment by echeque from a customer in canada (im in UK) on the 21st, accepted it the same day.

Paypal said the etimated clear date was 28-31st october, but it hasnt cleared yet, so i've sent the customer a message asking if she'd like me to cancel it and arrange an alternative method of payment (the longer this takes to clear the longer her order is held up)

She says the funds have already left her account, so how much longer do i wait? how long from leaving the buyers account is it until it clears?

This isnt via ebay btw, its a private transaction but sent as goods

Just wait for it to clear, it often takes a day or two longer that the estimated date.

    Xmas Saver!
I've also found it takes a couple of days longer than the estimated due date, at least you've kept in touch with the buyer, so they know whats going on.

Unfortunately there is no way of blocking them, and half the time the buyer doesn't even know they have sent an echeque.

It just seems random sometimes. I am currently purchasing lots of stuff on ebay and the other week I paid for about 14 items and two of the middle payments went as an echeque, the ones before and the ones after did not.
