i am currently looking for a property to rent for me and my 2 daughters as i have seperated from my partner.....i understand from my local council LHA page that if i were to qualify for local housing allowance, they would pay the "2 bedroom" allowance.....
thing is, i live in quite a rural area and am struggling to find any 2 bed properties, so my question is;
am i right in thinking it would be ok to rent a 3 bed property, and if i were to qualify for LHA then they would still only allow the "2 bedroom" rate?
i just want to check incase they say i cant get anything as i have too many rooms etc?
hope this makes sense....pretty frazzled today!
thanks

Yep, you can rent a ten bedroom house if you so choose. LHA will only pay the rate you are entitled to though - you'll need to make up the difference.0

If you can find a 3 bedroom place at less than the limit for a 2 bedroom, there is no problem. Otherwise, you have to make up the difference.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

thanks, thats what i thought, it seems there is hardly a difference in the rental prices of 2 or 3 bedroom properties around me anyway as i have checked back in the huge list of newspapers i have kept for composting:)0
