Has anybody booked with sunsave.com? Looking to book an holiday with them as I've found a really good deal but I'm a bit skeptical with how cheap it is.

OK, I have a feeling I have been stung. I am usually read lots of reviews before buying or booking anything but for some stupid reason I didnt read any of the Sunsave reviews. I entered my card details on their site and instead of receiving a booking confirmation I got a message saying someone would call back in 24hrs. I have read reports that they call back and increase the holiday price. I understand their are likely to be increases for baggage, transfers etc but the reason I booked with them was they were cheaper than everyone else.
Am I within my rights to tell them I am not interested if they come back with a big price increase? I have heard people saying that they wan to charge £60 cancellation fees or refuse to cancel all together. Surely as I dont have a booking confirmation I can cancel?
Note the holiday is in the next 4 weeks so they asked for the full amount on my card, not just the deposit. Also as they wanted to charge credit card fees I choose to use my debit card, another stupid decision I know..0 -
Unless they are selling what you agreed to buy, at the agreed price, there is no contract in law. Having said that, the horror stories suggest they may not give in too easily. If they refuse, contact your bank first, although reversing debit charges isn't as easy as credit card charges, contact your local trading standards department and ask them to contact West YorkshireTS, there may well be a file if the reviews are correct. Good luck0

Thanks Alan
Things didnt turn out too bad. I ended up calling them and telling them I needed a final price. As expected the new price did not bear any relation to the web price- was about £180 higher than the original price but then this did include extras such as baggage and supposedly 'free transfers'!
I told them I wasnt interested as the costs was much higher. They put me on the spot and asked me how much I was willing to pay- luckily I'd done some research. They agreed to this price, however have since found out could have got it slightly cheaper elsewhere but oh well is difficult to have all the prices in front of you.
There were very vague about the breakdown of costs - there are lots of booking fees and the baggage fee with easyjet is £40 rather than the £28 easyjet charge. They booked direct with Easyjet and even asked for my Easyjet password (I pretended I didnt remember as didnt want to give them this). The Easyjet price is the same as if I would have booked direct (even with the £28 baggage charge!). The hotel and 'other costs' is a bit of a mystery and havent received a breakdown yet.
I am still waiting to see what money actually gets taken off my card and that it is what was agreed.
In retrospect I wouldnt book with Sunsave again as far too much hassle and pricing too confusing..0 -
avoid like the plague!
Awful company, made a booking that online was 300 pounds total for two people, went through online to book.... and then gave my payment details and was happy to hear the price was actually £250... booked it only to find out they hid the fact tht £250 was per person not total!!
so they basically robbed me!
Been on the hpone, awful serrvice and a truely awful company!!
Heard so many bad things, please do not give them your custom!0 -
Hiya, Did you manage to get the holiday at the original cost or did you receive a full refund? Thanks0
