help with linux commands

I have no knowledge of linux.

I am trying to run a program in linux but I don't know the commands to change from the CD bootdisk to an usb harddisk to access the program.

I am booting from a linux rescue cd
at the prompt I type

fdisk -l

It then displays 2 disks
sda is the onboard system disk
sdb is an USB harddisk

I want to change to a linux directory stored on the sdb1

In DOS I would type from the d: prompt
e:
cd linux
program

What are the commands in linux to run the program in the linux directory on sdb1

You don't tell us which linux cd you have but try
mkdir /mnt/sdb1
mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt/sdb1
cd /mnt/sdb1
./program
