London Midland-Great Escape

I was wondering if anybody had used the LM great Escape offer.
Is it limited to only LM trains or can it be used on any service on their route.
I was hoping to travel from Milton Keynes to Liverpool,however the first part of the journey to Crewe is in Virgin trains and then change to LM trains,Ditto coming back.
I have asked LM for clarification but so far without an answer.

On their website it says...

Simply travel off-peak* until 6 November and go anywhere on London Midland trains for just £10 – or treat yourself to first class for just £10 more.

It goes on to say full terms and conditions are on the voucher.

And on the downloadable voucher on their website the first condition is...

Terms & conditions of promotion:

1. The Great Escape ticket allows one day’s unlimited off-peak travel on all London Midland train services. Travel is not permitted on any other train operator’s services.

As Wealdroam says you can only use LM trains.

I have done this journey on a previous Great Escape. Just use the hourly LM train to Crewe but change at Stafford and not Crewe. Takes about 2h 45 mins which is about 20-45 minutes longer than using Virgin for the first leg. First Train weekdays is 10.25 weekdays, arrives Liverpool 13:10. Last return train 18:04.

As the Great Escape is a Rover ticket, you can travel via Birmingham in either direction if you want. Takes a bit longer but means you can leave Liverpool an hour later than if you need to catch the last LM train from Stafford direct to MK. First train weekdays North from MK is 9:54, arrives Liverpool 13:10 as well. Last return train is 19:34.
