Eh? Money sent to wrong Paypal address - can I change it on payment request?

Bit odd this, last night some money came into an old Paypal addresss - I have the address set up on my computer for incoming emails (and use it for things like offers), but I have not 'used' it for anything else for about 3 years now. Paypal and eBay got changed long long ago - but last night I started getting payments into the old address. Is there any way I can go into the listings and change the email address before people start paying me?

I've refunded a couple but I have no idea why the old address is showing, Ive been selling for months and it has gone into the right account, this started last night. Some coming into the old one, some into the new one. Weird.

Also, is there any way of checking before I send the invoice, what email address is on there? I've looked and looked but cannot see anything. I've checked and iut says my account is linked to the address it should be.

If they haven't got a bid then they can be revised and the correct email added. If there are bids then it cannot be changed.

The last time I did that it was because I picked up an old template rather than spend time starting from scratch.

That is what is weird Sue, I did not have an old template - it's way, way back and I use the templates I have been using and this is the only time it happened. I'll just have to see what ones come in then. Thanks for the reply.

You can add the e-mail as a reverse payment e-mail address so you're account picks up any stray payments.

You need access to the email address to add it to your paypal account though don't forget.

OK, that is interesting, thanks. I'll see if I can access the email address account tonight and change the passwords then, save this happening in the future.

you cant do this if the email is linked to another paypal account. i had a simular thing happen to me and checking my ebay account and listings the old email address was not listed.

both ebay and paypal just kept repeating it is nothing to do with them as i must have done it, even though prove showed i had done nothing to change this.

it was not until i informed ebay as i had not changed anything and the listings showed the correct paypal details i would report them for fraud that they suddenly got back to me to say they found a system clitch

If the email address is linked to another paypal account already then the payment will go there.
