Where to go thats hot and intresting?

Hi guys,
I am considering taking my 10 yr old son on holiday. He likes to learn and his passions are history and the natural world/animals and I need sun. I have some leave which I need to take so I would be looking at travelling in about 4-6 weeks for a week to 10 days. I have not travelled without my other half before and my son has ADHD but is a good traveller. I would be happier if we had access to English speakers. I was thinking perhaps Florida for bush gardens, discovery cove etc, not Disney or somewhere totally difference but probably a package. I have up to 2k to spend. Any ideas???

Thank you.
Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!

For that money you might be able to go on a safari to Kenya, or Kruger park in South Africa. SA also has plenty of history. Only thing would be that in 6 weeks is the run up to Christmas, and whereever you fly prices would be higher than waiting until January / February for example.
Alternatively Egypt, plenty of history there, Cairo is an amazing city, and combine with a few days at one of the resorts to snorkel and see marine life.

When I was ten I was taken to Israel and loved it: lots of history of course, although I'm not sure it offered that much in the way of animals. Egypt does sound like an excellent plan. Do, however, check whether it offers enough sunshine for you at this time of year: at least you can be sure there won't be any rain!

I'm not sure that I would want to take a child with ADHD as far as South Africa, since that is a really long flight.

Israel would also be good, and there is the Biblical Zoo just outside Jerusalem.

I mentioned South Africa as the OP was considering Florida and SA is not that much further.

Florida sounds great because there are tons of places you can go that dont include Disney, that are good for learning but having fun at the same time.

I just got an email from American Airlines with flights to Orlando for £379 and up for the time you want to go
