    Argggghhhh!

I haven't got this sorted and I only have 4 days to go!

Old - ???Do you think for old existing jewellery of mine would count? (Only 3 or 4 years old) ???
    New - Dress etc
    Borrowed - ???
    Blue - ???? I suppose I could get a blue garter...

    So much for being organised.

I have never heard of the sixpence!

Old - ???Do you think for old existing jewellery of mine would count? (Only 3 or 4 years old) ??? - absolutely counts
    New - Dress etc
Borrowed - ??? - maybe borrow a grip, or hair bobble or something like that off one of your bridesmaids? Doesn't have to be anything big!
Blue - ???? I suppose I could get a blue garter... - most of the garters I saw had a blue ribbon in them, so you'll be fine!

the place where i bought the dress from enclosed a thank you card, with a silver sixpence attched to it

i thought it was a nice touch

traditionally you need to borrow something from a happily married lady, so that their happiness rubs off on you, but if you can borrow a blue garter, 2 boxes ticked in one go!! :)
