Old, new, borrowed, blue

Hey,

I was just wondering what everyone else's something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue was?

Although I still have 20 months until the big day I am super organised and have:

Old - a broach my great nana gave me, it's 3 green ladybirds and she told me it was lucky, I'm thinking of having it incorporated into my bouquet.
New - I have a lot to chose from: dress, shoes, lingerie
Borrowed - my nana has lent me a pair of swarovski crystal heart earrings to go with my necklace
Blue - I'm going to ask my aunt to make me a garter. I haven't seen one I like so thought I could buy the stuff to have one made.

Not sure about the sixpence in my shoe bit, but I have one just in case.

I'm married now but I had

Old: An old sixpence that i put in my shoe. (Two birds with one stone there)
    New: dress etc
Borrowed: My underskirt was borrowed off a friend
Blue: My garter had a blue ribbon through the middle of it

  • I wasn't sure if I could use one item for two. did you just have the sixpence in for the wedding ceremony or did you leave it in all day? Daft question but I thought it might be uncomfortable.

Old - Necklace from the 1930's - also borrowed!
New - take your pick - dress, earrings, veil, underwear
Borrowed - tiara from my new SIL (and the necklace)
Blue - little blue ribbon and bow and the top of my stockings

I didn't have the sixpence in my shoe, but will be buying one for my best friend when she gets married next year.

My friend lent me a silver sixpence for my shoe. She's going to let all of her friends borrow it - so it will be a lovely tradition! She also made my blue garter.

I forgot the sixpence was even in my shoe - I couldn't even feel it! But I went back to the room to freshen up after the meal and took it out then.

I couldn't feel the sixpence in my shoe either, they really are tiny little things! I took it out and put it down my cleavage where it stayed all night. Classy i know but when you have no pockets it was the safest place to keep it! haha

Am I the only one who didn't bother? I did do it first time round and it obviously didn't work - this time round I didn't even think about it!

I remember one of my friends stuck her sixpence to the bottom of her sandal with glue!
