Dear All,
I am appealing to anyone who can advise me of what steps I can take or where to turn to for advice in relation to the below information;
High Court orders closure of Century Property Group LtdAug 25 2011
The Secretary of State for Business, Innovation & Skills has presented a petition in the High Court to wind up in the public interest Century Property Group Ltd, formerly Century Land Group Limited.
The company operates a land banking business selling small plots of land for investment through its website.
The company’s business address is 7 th Floor, Tower 42, 25 Old Broad Street, London, EC2N 1HU.
The petition to wind up the company was presented following confidential enquiries carried out by Company Investigations, part of the Insolvency Service, under section 447 of the Companies Act 1985, as amended.
On the application of the Secretary of State the Official Receiver has been appointed by the Court as provisional liquidator of the company. The role of the Official Receiver is to protect the assets and financial records of the company pending determination of the petition. The provisional liquidator also has the power to investigate the affairs of the company insofar as it is necessary to protect the assets including any third party or trust monies or assets in the possession of or under the control of the company.
As the matter is before the Court no further information will be made available until the petition is determined. The petition is listed for hearing on 19 October 2011.
Century Property Group Ltd was incorporated as a private company on 17 October 2008. It changed its name from Century Land Group Limited on 6 April 2011. The registered office of the company is c/o Alexanders, Redhill Chambers, High Street, Redhill, Surrey, RH1 1RJ.
The directors of the company have been Mr Jan Maarten Bogaerts (from incorporation to 16 April 2009) and Mr Stephen John Wheeler (from 16 April 2009 to date) who is also the company secretary.
All public enquiries concerning the affairs of the company should be made to: The Official Receiver, Public Interest Unit, 21 Bloomsbury Street, London, WC1B 3QW Tel No: 020 7637 1110 email: piu.or@insolvency.gsi.gov.uk
This has been my one and only venture into any form of investment and as a result I think i may have been scammed.
The money used for this so called investment was almost all my savings for my ever nearing retirement date.
This has left me feeling not only very foolish but seriously out of pocket.
I would really appreciate any advice that can be offered.
Many Thanks,
Jacabi.

Write to the official receiver and ask to be added to their list of creditors. Maybe.
Without more info it's difficult to tell if you're a creditor or not.
Did you buy some land from them? How much money did you give them, and what did you get in return?
So;

Landbanking is a scam. Without knowing what you bought it is impossible to be sure, but at best you probobly own a small plot of land that has very little value and no chance of ever increasing in value.
Whether the company that sold you the land also has any of your money is a separate question. If it does, put in a claim. But most likely there will be hundreds of people claiming and very little money to distribute.0
