Hi
Im seathing ! Just had the buyer from hell
Bought 2 items from me and emailed to say they had paid 20p too much ( alarm bells should have rang then!) because they bid twice. I refunded the 20 p. Then they wanted postage discount. No prob only charged one postage. Sent yesterday they got today. Emailed me to say that the cream they bought has been used, so is not new as described. This is a total lie ! It is brand new and was only bought last week.So I said it was new and to return it.They then said they wanted a new one and ME to pay for the postage for a new one and to send the one thay have back !Plus asked what I was doing buying things to sell ? ! ? At this I got fed up.
Told them that it is definately new and how do I not know that the one they sending back is the same as i sent or not been used ? So i have said tough I have provided you with what you bought.Am seething I have 400+ feedback and not one neg. I am also v. honest :A .
This person has 5 feedback and has left a neg for someone already. Can they do a chargeback ? Also upset a bit that i might get an undeserved neg.

what do you mean by chargeback??
if they leave a negative feedback for you, you can go through the dispute process (Squaretrade) to try to resolve the matter and get the feedback removed.
it is sad that there are a few people who ruin things on ebay but you will always encounter "problem customers" as you would in a shop.
it sounds as though you have done everything you stated you would so I would stick to your guns and refuse to provide a refund!0 -
Sorry she paid through paypal and has sent me 6 emails this morning saying I better give her money back ! She is starting to drive me nuts.I was worried that she will process to get her money back through paypal ( i am not to sure how this works , as it has never happend to me ! ).
I did not know you could get negs removed.
Heck shes emailed me again !.....0 -
Cat 72. There is a chance she can get her money back via paypal so the first thing you should do is clean out your paypal account if you haven't already done that.
This kind of situation drives me crazy, a seller can do everything right and then get held to ranson by a buyer. The only thing you have in your favour is that if she does do a chargeback you can start NPB process against her which is far more damaging than a negative.
You really only have two options neither of which is ideal. The first one is to demand the stuff back and just refund the cost, not the post and packing. The second would be to ignore her entirely and see what she does. You risk a neg either way, even if you do a full refund she might still be 'odd' enough to neg you.
Hope it goes well for you.

Thanks for replying.
At first i did what you said and offered her a full refund apart from postage and was nice about it. Then she just started saying she wanted postage for sending it plus her postage back.So thats when I lost it ( I didnt swear or anything just said forget it you are getting nothing) . She has just emailed me to say she is glad she has copied all the emails I have sent her ! Which do admit she has got the item and have me saying it is what she bought.
If she does a paypal chargeback thingy how can she prove its not what she bought? Could I appeal ? I forgot to say Im a power seller so will she be able to complain through that too ?0 -
Don't sweat it ! There are always people who try it on and threaten to complain "to your boss" whether its in an office and they want something or a buyer in a shop or ebay - I've had this before - the best solution is to not get worried about it at all - worst case is a negative and a paypal chargeback - so what ? no seller ever gets past 500 without a neg or three ! Its a cost of business - just do a NPB and they will get a strike - 3 and they are out !
I have had the misfortune of meeting the sort of person your buyer sounds like before - the language is even the same !! "I bought this described as new but its not - give me a new one but I won't send the old one back until you pay me (and for my petrol and for my time to go to the PO)" - you won't get the old one back though ! - they just try it on even more if you give in a smidgen - sad thing is that you have to get aggresive and tell them to *ee off before they go and find a more willing victim - I really loathe these back-stabbing / whiney / greedy / grasping / snitching sort of people.
Remember this point if no other - they are the 1% - the other 99% are like us and our trades are friendly and easy - win : win - thats where you make money - the 1% don't realise that and keep at their tricks but will ultimately have to realise their error or live a life grasping for pennies when pounds so could easily come their way !

I think its so awful that people can just do a chargeback so easily with no questions asked. At the end of the day a buyer buy's at their own risk, buying from an established seller being less risky! If paypal/ebay do want to do refunds to people claiming it should come out of their own pockets and simply give a strike or something similar to the seller if they really have to. Larger value items should be sent recorded delivery or something similar so that a seller can then prove if an item was received and the chargeback doesn't go ahead! I think paypal is easy to use (a touch expensive especially when you consider your charged a % even when you don't use a credit cards just pay with money out of your paypal account), but this really spoils it as a crook could set up an ebay a/c with zero feedback - buy an item & say not delivered and then claim all the money back on that item no questions asked!0

Don't worry they can't chargeback through PayPal. I hope you sent it recorded? Probably not but you have enough e-mails showing it was delivered so don't worry about that.
They might have a shot at goods misdescribed through EBay. If I were you I would just neg them first. I have increasing problems with negative feedback usually from people who do not bother to contact. I normally refund or replace without quibble but if the negative has already been left they have in my view shot their bolt and done as much damage as they can.
Its going to happen at some point and you will have to take a stand....why not now??0 -

Thanks everybody you have made me smile
.I suppose you are right roof of posting had to get a neg one day! sniff. Problem is the unjustice etc of it all.
Hey Mr wibble you are soooo sensible and quite right. I have one or two pals I made on ebay who bought things from me.
I never sent it recorded but have posting ( i always offer recorded at a whole 65p extra but no one takes it !) .I put her on my blocked senders email as she keeped emailling me. I wish I had swore at her now !!
But heck it is scary to think of the ways you could get ripped of easily thru the paypal think. Just does not seem at all right.
The GOOD think is that she bought two items and paid for these seperately so in theory I could file two non bidders. Hee hee . Thanks to your advice as I had not thought of that ! :beer:0
