  • Hex the stars have worked, look who's back :rotfl:

    Who's that then :whistle::whistle::whistle::whistle: Shallow, me :p:) :A

In my HHC I have tidied upstairs and continued decluttering (broken bag of DD's to recycling, bag of stuff for charity shop, pile of stuff to list on Freecycle).

se don't over do it hun

Valli do you want stars and snowmen? You're not on my list - give me a total if you do

    :rotfl:
Ooh yes please can I have snowmen - I have a snowman candle (xmas gift from a child I taught about 5 years ago) on permanent display in my living room - I LOVE it but DD hates it - she will burn it at my funeral, apparently:rotfl:and a snowman 3D jigsaw which was hers on the mantlepiece! I'm not allowed any more - this is unfortunate because I have seen a cute (but kitsch) LCD colour changing one in the co-op!

What do I have to do for snowmen? The extras?

And we have tickets for John Bishop - in October! - I have bought 2 while my mum ummed and ahhed whether to buy them nephew (her grandson) for xmas - and they are next to ours! If he doesn't want them I will be able to let a colleague buy them so no worries!

I suppose I ought to do some cleaning!
    Anyone up for a HHC?

Oh and some more collectables have sold on fleabay for VERY good prices!

Mumto5 ((((hugs)))) but excellent that you are getting support from your inlaws.

    Morning all

I've cleaned the bathroom and toilet. No car for me but my freezer is OK (I made sure I got a frost free one when we did the kitchen). The fridge/freezer is almost OK, there is fishing bait in the bottom drawer but I spoke to DH about this yesterday and we've agreed that if his workmate doesn't want it we can bin it. It's taking up a drawer I could use with Christmas coming up. Just have to nag him to speak to his workmate now....

I'm not sure if I was thinking about anything else when I was cleaning, I feel like my mind was a blank!

Ooh, the sun is trying to come out, it's been so dark and wet here this morning. Still leaving the washing indoors though, it doesn't look that settled.

I have no idea whether I'm due any stars or snowmen and I'm not feeling very competitive this week so I'm not really bothered Dusty :) Might be dying for prizes next week though;)

Back from town, how did that take so long? Most tasks completed. Couple of presents bought with my No7 vouchers - one for 75p and the other for £1.25 oh and some posh shortbreads reduced too so that is 3 more little bits than I had this morning.

Managed to arrange the plasters for next Tuesday - gee that will be another messy day.

Splitting headache so I'll find the parrots, then:

DS1 - packed lunch to sort as he is working straight from school until 10pm
    Ring carpenter
DS3 school singing thing at 2:30
Put the presents away (after logging them of course)

Mumto5 huge hugs and empathy xx

  • Good afternnoon :D

I have been working this morning, then DH came home. he has gone to pick DS up from school now. I have taken the dog for a little walk, then dropped him at the groomers to be scalped! (he & the groomer have a mutual dislike for each other :rotfl:) He did say that he was a bit better today, so maybe he is getting used to it. i wouldn't bother, but he takes so long to dry when his hair gets long - and his glands needed doing
DH & I took him for another walk after :)

Ok. I am off to do a quick clean of the bathroom before school pick up. The light in there is awful, so I have to do it during the day otherwise I miss bits :o Off I go then....

I'm feeling really low and am trying to pull myself together. I feel really pathetic, I just can't stop crying.
(((HUG))) I don't have any words of wisdom I'm afraid, but hey, pathetic you are not, OK? It sounds like a very, very stressful situation, and one that'd have anyone in tears.

    Thursday Shaker Day
What do you think about whilst doing your flying? All the other things you need to do? Today I want you to act like a Shaker for just 15 minutes. Whilst doing some of your flying I want you to settle your mind solely to the task in hand. Take pride in what you do and satisfaction from seeing the limescale come of the taps and the shine appear.

Ooh, that was an interesting one! I've never really thought about it before, and it seemed very strange to actually concentrate on the washing-up for more than just making sure not to break anything.:o
    Preparing for Winter Challenges:snow_grin
    Thursday Car Prep
Get your car ready for winter so that if you should get caught in the snow or break down you are prepared. Here is a great guide for what you could do.
No car? Give your freezer a good sort; do you have space for emergency bread and milk supplies. Are you low on anything? Could the freezer do with defrosting?

Thanks for this one, Dusty:beer: Mr LW and I have been through the list you linked to together, and everything is now covered - I've hauled the Stanley flask out of the cupboard and rinsed it out (not been used in a while) with a view to putting hot water in, and a plastic pot with a few green tea bags, and will get a bar of chocolate to keep in the car when we next shop. Mr LW does check the car over every weekend, to make sure tyres, oil, wash bottle etc are up to scratch. The one thing he mentioned to add to the list is to make sure your screen wash is strong enough - it's easy to just top up with water and forget to add more screen washing liquid if you're in a hurry.;)

Our freezer was defrosted last week, and is all stocked up and the inventory all up to date and correct.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

I have cleaned the bathroom (very thoroughly inc the tiles!) hoovered through the kids rooms and decided to make a little room in DS's top cupboard by removing a long-time-since-it-was-played with candle factory. There were some bits of wax left but they are history now. The funnel I have kept ;)
I spotted a few other long-unused things so a bit of relocating will come into play I think. Then he can keep the board games he DOES use in the cupboard instead of on the top
did landing and stairs inc a handbrush of the landing - lovely wool carpet but has velcro like qualities
cleaned kitchen and ironed the not-quite-dry washing I ran out to bring in about 2 hours ago.
