Faulty goods

Options
Hi

Just wanted to check something, I brought a set of draws from an Argos clearance store last Monday, when we started to put them together, we realised they had the incorrect draw risers in, they don't fit.

Problem is I can't find my receipt, you can clearly see from the box they are from the clearance store, obviously I would like my money back as they don't work. Can I get a refund without a receipt do I have to accept a credit note from the store, on the box in did not indicate they were faulty the box was a bit damaged, but it honestly looks like some one had tried before as some of the dells were in the draws

Please can someone clarify for me

Thanks I'm advance hoping to take them back tomorrow

Officially, you only need some sort of proof of purchase (like a card statement, etc). You may well find, however, that if you're nice to whoever is on the returns desk, they may be able to search for your receipt on the till.
