Missing a high level brake light.

Options
Today we went to the local safari park as it was half price and stupidly opted to go through the baboon enclosure.

I am now missing a high level brake light on our 03 old style Reanult Scenic. Anyone know of a source of a cheap one? There are lots of dodgy looking on-line spares places asking for your details, are these types of places any good or am I best ringing around the local scrap yards?

Ebay have some at £30 - 40 quid but I only have a fragment of the original , so don't have a part number to compare against. I can't even remember if it has a bulb or leds.

I'll get a price for a new one from the local reanult dealer but I don't think it will be cheap.

If any one has idea where I can get the right one cheaply?

My experience of scrappies is the parts are in order of type then year of make of car, if you could maybe get a look at 1 or a picture of 1 then it mgiht help in your quest.

Did you try the breakers shop at the exit of the safari park, I bet they have one or two going.

Im sure they train them to remove expensive parts without damage.

It did cross my mind that a local breakers would do a good business.
In the baboon section the road was littered with broken exterior trim parts.

No one to blame but myself as there was an alternative route missing the baboon section. It was quite funny though.

When we went through, we watched them descend on a Land Rover discovery - they seemed to know just which pieces would come away. The occupants went from amusement to concern very quickly.
  • i cant find the video on youtube but i was watching someone filming the car infront in the babboon enclosure was a 54 plate subaru impreza sti the first thing they hit was the rear spoiler ripping it off the boot, quite funny to watch a pair of boons hanging on it yanking for dear life then when the spoiler give out the pair landed flat on their backs with a big black spoiler landing on them and the carrying it off into the wilderness, then another pair went for the bonnet vent, one came back for the wipers and made off with the complete stalk. all the while the chap was trying to shoo them away and all they did was look at him as if to say what ever dude you swing your arms worse than me.

They do seem to like Renaults

I see that they're actually trained on Mercedes though
