Tesco only 4 receipts scanned for points at a time?

I'm a loyal Tesco customer who tries to earn as much Tesco points as possible and sometimes I forget to bring my clubcard. I took my receipts to the customer service desk about six of them and was told that only four at a time was allowed.

Has this always been the case in every store or was it because the woman couldnt be bothered to scan them?

I was told yesterday that it was only 3 per time and they had to be signed at the time by the checkout operator as people abuse it?

my clubcard is my credit card so I dont always have my clubcard with me & pay cash. Had card before they brought in those key fob thingys.

I take my points receipts in as and when I think about it - have either 4 or 5 weeks to claim points

Mine are genuine receipts but this is obviously to try and stop wombling.
Thanks to everyone who posts comps :T

That is ridiculous, I know some (a minority) of people abuse the system but it's a disgrace that shoppers have to get their receipt signed by a cashier. what if they forget to ask the cashier, it's not fair that they could loose out on points which they have earned.

Our Tesco has had a policy of only 2 receipts per time for quite a few years now - I think it was originally implemented because you had to type quite a lot of information in to the till in order to put points on, but now they have barcodes it's really quick. I don't think they have to be signed by the cashier to my knowledge but then I haven't forgotten my clubcard for a while.

i had receipts to put on but the cs put it on no problem.I had 6 small receipts with couple of points on.So i think its a rule they make up on the spot. But yes they cancel the receipt once those points are added on.

i dont think its because they cant be bothered.....

Hmmmm, I have never been told they have to be signed by the cashier, but if this becomes the norm it won't stop wombling. Who is to know all the signatures of the cashiers at another branch? All one would have to do is accidentally (;) ) squiggle in the appropriate place with a pen, not that I am advocating this of course..............:D

It's probably to stop people picking up Tesco receipts and getting the points off them.

I agree, its definately to discourage 'wombling' - Just strange as to why there are so many inconsistencies between stores regarding their policies for adding points onto CC's?
