I was technically an 'apprentice' for two years, then went onto full pay, then sick pay, then resigned. So it's a bit too confusing to go into details here.

I will have to follow up with the tax office. Just wanted to know if it should be me sorting it out, or my ex-employer.

It's not that confusing. All you would need is your P60 details for the year in question and the details from the HMRC demand. There are plenty of people on here who can help.

No-one can answer that without those details. We can't say whether it's an employer fault or not.
