Best wireless router for use with cable modem?

Any suggestions? Won't be using it for gaming, but all other usual stuff. Willing to spend enough for a decent one (say up to £50).
I'm on virgin media cable (wired to my laptop at present via their cable modem), and laptop has wireless capability built in.

They used to give you a netgear one for free - have they stopped doing that now
it seems they have, and switch to combined router/modem - LINK0 -

Thanks. Reading the link you sent, it doesn't look like it applies to existing customers who already take cable bb - but I will check with them.If you will the end, you must will the means.0
