EMA application in Scotland, how long should it take?

My daughter is in 5th year at high school and our family income is well below the threshold for her to receive EMA. We sent off the application forms 9 weeks ago and yesterday I received my submitted evidence of status (CTC forms, my own SAAS award etc) back in the post with a courtesy slip saying her case will be assessed 'in due course'. Has anyone claimed EMA in scotland, is this length of wait usual? Thanks.

My son has just received his money this week after submitting his form before the start of term. I think it all depends on which education authority is dealing with it - maybe they have had a backlog.0

I would give them a phone on Monday and ask about it.My son has always had his EMA about a month after term has started. Its usually the brew that takes its time filling in the form and sending it back to us.
As smudge56 said,maybe they have a backlog.0 -
THey are very slow, my son just got his money two weeks ago and thats from putting in a application in July. but no harm in giving them a quick call to see whats happening.Sealed Pot Challenge5 1707 £289.00/£4000

Thanks for the replies everyone. Our LA is generally slow at most things so that's probably what's going on. I'll give them a wee ring this morning as I'm off. Thanks again.Come ride with me, through the veins of history...
