Help, boiler broken down!

Typical, coldest day I can remember and the boiler has broken down. Well it is working intermittently, but have been trying to run a bath all evening and water just coming out cold most of the time.
Anyway, I would like some advise on what boiler to buy. Currently have a combination boiler and have 9 radiators in a 3 bed semi. I might consider an extension in the future, so would like a new boiler to be able to cope with that too. I would still like a combi, as with 3 young children I need hot water on tap. Any suggestions as to make and model? Thanks.

Try a post over here. Give them the details of the current boiler model and the problem, they're good at prompt replies. My oil fired boiler broke down on boxing day and they identified the problem as a capacitor which was a quick cheap repair.

Why are you buying a new boiler? it could just have a small problem!
We were thinking the same when ours went recently, we found British gas do a £160 1 fault fix.
Basically, they will come out, take a look. If its not fixable, they wont charge, if it is fixable, they'll order the part (or fix it) and then charge £160. No matter how much the part is!
