Beware Macdonald Hotel Halloween Offer

I've just booked a 2-night stay at a Macdonald Hotel using their promotional 'Halloween Offer' code ATR. I have since discovered that it would have been cheaper if I'd booked it at their 'normal' rate. I'm wondering whether this is just a 'one-off' or whether all their 'offers' have a 'built-in deception'. Please check all prices if you are booking with this hotel chain.
