CB. ESA letter, a query

Hi, I've had my letter about the proposed change to ESA ( limiting it to 12 months) and that this will affect me if it actually happens ( which we know it will). It explains that I could apply for income based ESA but I'm not going to bother because I have slightly more than the allowed capital. However, after April next year, I won't have ANY income at all so I'll have to use this capital. My questions are 1- will I have to keep every receipt, even for my living costs so I can prove that I. 'm not depriving my assests. 2- what will my status be whilst I am in this transition stage ie, I,m still officially unable to work, so when my savings run down, do I have to apply for ESA all over again, or would I automatically go on to IB. ESA?

You just transfer over, if you tell them you have no income.
What amount of capital do you have?
'reasonable' spending will have no question - if you for example buy a newer second hand car, a new fridge to replace your old one, ...
A 10K kitchen, a trip to miami with 5 close friends, ... probably not.0
