Hi,
My 12 year old daughter wants a laptop for Christmas and I've no idea what would be best, there's are so many choices. It would be used for word processing, internet browsing, facebook, online games etc. We haven't got a massive budget, looking about £250-£300 so if anyone could recommend a basic model or a bargain, it would be greatly appreciated!

No specific recommendation, but a netbook sacrifices performance (and an optical drive) for portability, so I'd go for a full-sized laptop.
Netbooks are great (I'm using one now) - you can sling one in a bag and take it anywhere, but I wouldn't want one as my main PC...0 -

on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -

the ones off argos ebay outlet have a full 12-month warranty. Also, Distance Selling Regs mean if it turns up and you're not happy with it you have 7 days to send back for replacement/refund
note:- "refurbished" on there usually means "new, but the box has been opened so we can't re-sell it as NEW"......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
