RBS - Old Customer - how long before I can re-apply?

I formerly had an RBS credit card. Anyone any idea how long I need to have been away for before I can reapply and take advantage of a promotional rate?

It used to be 8 months, but the only mention of 'wait' period on their website relates to previous (unsuccessful?) applications and that's 6 months.0
