Reclaiming savings tax

Can you reclaim tax paid on closed savings accounts?
I think I paid about £40 savings tax in the tax year 05-06 or 06-07. I'm still within the deadline to reclaim it, but does it matter if the account is actually closed, and I don't have the details of exactly how much tax was paid and the account details.

You will need details of interest received and tax deducted. Not just for this account, you will need details of all your income for the relevant year in order to complete HMRC form R40.
It does not matter that the account has since been closed.
I believe that the window for reclaiming tax has now reduced to the past 4 tax years.0 -
The above, of course, assumes you are entitled to reclaim.0
