Payments to Moon Beever due to start - problems with pay

Options
Hi guys,

Would appreciate some help and guidance, a bit worried about what's going to happen.

I went br back in June, but before then I've been paying an attachment to earnings of £300.

I've been speaking to my OR and I've been told that my attachments would defintely stop this month.

Got my payslip today and the payments are still being made. On top of that I've had a letter from Moon Beever confirming my payments to them are due to start at the beginning of November.

I've been in constant contact with the OR saying I'm worried that my attachment would not stop and it's come true.

What should I do with Moon Beeveer? I've emailed them to explain but are they going to expect the full payment or will they deduct the £300 I've paid again this month?

My payments haven't started until now because of this and I just want to get them started as I feel a bit in limbo.

Would appreciate your help on this one.

Is this an IPA for surplus or purely nil tax?

If it's surplus then obviously you don't have it at this time so the OR should be sympathetic to your situation.

If it's for nil tax then you won't have paid the tax through your wages therefore should have that amount available regardless of the attachment of earnings.

Have you spoken to your employer about whether they have received anything to tell them to stop the attachment of earnings?

Yes it's an ipa for surplus, I ave the nil tax money saved ready to give.

Has anyone else experienced this before? Are Moon Beever likely to be sympathetic, I'm obviously not in a position to pay the ipa and £300 from my own money.

I haven't spoken to my employer, I'll speak to Moon Beever on Monday and take it from there.

I would assume that the OR was in charge of notifying the attachment of earnings 'people' to cease and they then should have sent a notification to your employers. As such I don't see any reason why you would be expected to pay both your IPA and the AofE in the same month, in fact you have already said that the IPA was set up to coincide with when the AofE was expected to stop.

You do need to check with your employers whether they received the notification to stop and if so, why they didn't stop... It could be they received the notification just one day after payroll was run!

Armed with this information you can then speak more knowledgeably with Moonbeever.

hi..........don't worry too much about meeting exact payment dates with Moonbeever, they can be flexible.

Have you had dealings with them before? Do you think they're likely to expect me to pay the full ipa even though the attachment to earnings has been paid again this month?

I'm worried they're going to expect it and I won't be able to get to work and get food etc :(

hi..you need to do as you stated above, contact them tomorrow and find out what has gone on?

Yes, I have had dealings with Moonbeever...and found them very accommodating.

But be aware, Moonbeever does not act of it's own bat...it responds to instructions from the OR..

You will not be expected to sacrifice your allowances within your SOA just to meet an IPA payment....this is why communication with Moonbeever and the OR is needed....something may have gone awry?
