Just our of interest, when did you send your original complaint letter to them? My complaint was also about an AA loan and I'm still waiting for them to do the calculations! 23 weeks now...

I'm told once the calculations are complete that they send the cheque within 28 days but normally a lot quicker. I don't think they give the option of paying into a bank account.

  • Received a letter from my ppi claim company saying Sainsbury Bank (Bank of Scotland) will send refund direct to me.The letter dated 27th November 2018.I am still waiting after at least two phone calls to Bank of Scotland, with the excuse of «!we have sent the cheque,so if you haven’t reviewed it,we will cancel that cheque, issue you another one,but not until the original cancelled cheque has gone through the system!»what a load of waffle. Will explore the process of claiming against them via the ombudsman.

Since your complaint is already upheld and all you are waiting for is a delayed cheque, you cannot refer the complaint to the Ombudsman.

Please note that this thread is from 2012, so it would have been wiser to simply start your own thread.

Pete if that is the route you wanna go down then you would have to submit a formal complaint to bank of Scotland and await their final response letter giving you FOS referral rights (should be around 8 weeks for this), then you can take your complaint to FOS and await for your complaint to be allocated (perhaps 3-6 months if you’re lucky - during all this time bank of Scotland may well put a hold on the complaint as now with FOS) OR you can just follow the process with bank of Scotland, ensuring they hold correct address details on file.
