Meter cupboard heat loss - how to insulate

  • I've just moved house and there is a gas meter cupboard and an electric meter cupboard in the hall. You can see the cavity wall insulation at the top edges of the back cupboards. I'm getting pretty bad condensation in the electric cupboard & yanked out an old carpet. There is a damp musty smell in the hall mainly from the bricks in the gas cupboard. It could be these are cold spots where the cavity wall insulation does not extend.
Do I need more ventilation in these spaces or should I try & insulate or both?
