Found my "lost" passport but....

It was in the garden and has suffered serious water damage. All internal pages except for the emergency contacts and the actual id section, and front and back cover are more or less destroyed. However, the photo, microchip and id number are all perfectly legible.

It's one of the new generation "chipped" passports. Can I get away with using it for a eurotrip in the next week or so?

  • My hubby washed his.You could barely see any damage, we phoned the passport agency and they said we could risk it but probably wouldn't be allowed to fly with it

My passport was perfect, went to Amsterdam the border agency man went:eek:

    I went

He smiled and said 'just joking' wonderful, a dutchman with a sense of humour, nice when it was over and I had time to think about it but just for a split second my heart sank.

I didnt mind though cos he was a bit gorgeous:D and I was old enough to be his mother :D

I risked it once with a really damaged passport and pretty much the above happened. The man said :naughty: , but he let me off and said I needed to get a new one for next time.
    Happy :)

i washed my oh passport days before he went to spain, the cover was hanging off and all of the pages were ruined. we phoned and they advised that as long as the photo was still intact and sealed around all 4 edges and the chip still worked he'd be ok. The photo was fine so he risked it and the chip worked as well.

he actually used it twice before replacing it.
