Looking at dumping my 'one account' and remortage with ING direct.
The rate looks look - anyone any experience with the ING or this particular deal?
Thanks in advance

Does this include the latest base rate increase of 0.25%?
Phone One Account up and see what they will offer you to stay - they offered me 0.5% off recently0 -

Is that 0.5% for the duration or for a fixed period?
I did speak to someone last week and they offered me a fixed rate of 5.79 for 12 months only - but this meant changing from an offset to a fixed0 -
ANother question - ING State "our rate will be less than 0.9% above the Bank of England Base Rate"
How does this work when BOE are 5.25 and iNG are 5.14?0 -
I've gone with ING - the 5.14 rate I was quoted was before the 0.25% rise - they haven't mentioned an increase yet but I'm sure its only a matter of time before it will go up.
There is the risk that it will end up at the full 0.9% above the base rate in the future, but at least there are no arranegement, legal and valuation fees and no fees or tie-in period to get out if you want to switch again...0 -
I'm remortgaging with ING. No problem with the rate but they don't seem to be very efficient. I asked for my remortgage to be completed at the beginning of January having applied in late October. I am still waiting and have had to chase them to get them to identify what the hold ups are and to do something about them. Communication between the customer service front end and the completely separate organisations that provide the remortgaging service don't seem to be very good.
Of course since this month's interest rate rise their phone lines are jammed solid with people looking for an under 5% fix so even harder to get through to them:mad:...0 -
I was looking at an ING mortgage also, wanted to ask a question before bothering with forms. Called at least half a dozen times at different days and times and at no point was the call queue less than 20 mins and was sometimes 40mins. I think they may have a problem with customer service and it was definitely offputting.0

I got in just in time to remortgage with their 4.95 fixed rate account and have to say they have been very efficient. Applied last Tuesday night and mortgage offer is available online today; expecting it in the post tomorrow. Any documents we had to send were minimal and were dealt with quickly and returned next day. The only bad point is the customer service - takes around 40-45 mins to get through to them. I am now benefiting from having bought a speaker phone which i can clip to jeans and walk around the house with listening to their annoying supermarket music......nothing's perfect I guess.0

Agree with Sleepless Saver. Tried remortgaging with them - 10 weeks later I'm still waiting for the Mortgage offer. They're in an operational mess and their back office don't seem to have a clue as to what they want in terms of documentation.0

12 months only - discount from the variable rate, but no additional fees or penalties - will keep me going while I decide whether to remortgage away from them0
