Ideas needed for adult/teenage children

ps i probably wont get him the condoms, not because i dont think its a good idea in general as teenagers might be too embarrassed to get some themselves and theyre useful things to have or give if you have sexually active teenagers , but rather in my sons case theyd be wasted as the only thing he shows any interest in at the moment is his xbox lol0

I'm 24 and for the past few years I've gotten magazine subscriptions from my mum. I love it, sometimes I change the magazine but I love knowing my gift lasts all year and it saves me money on something I love to have!0

lots of great ideas.... thankyou so much
Xbox mag is a good one for the boys
My daughter dont use make up but i have already got her a brush set and smellies, she does tie her hair bk for college so maybe get her some bands and bits for her college
eldest son buys everything himself and ive had to take things back previous years as his already bought it so i have to steer clear of dvds and think of things he wouldnt really buy himself
I think they would like some joke presents because my youngest is always trying to find ways to wind up his brothers lol:rotfl:0 -

Do any of them drive? The best present (sad I know) I got a few years ago was a swiss army knife that's n a keyring. Just a little one, think they're £8 ish. I'm 26 and it is soooo handy! Including for improvising as other things when out and about! My Mum always since I passed (was 17) has bought me sponge, bucket, interior wipes etc for car too. Which is always good as when you need them you dont have them, or it's Sunday and the shops have just shut!Married the lovely Mr P 28th April 2012. Little P born 29th Jan 20140

When I was older and living at home, my stocking would include:
Christmas FHM (with the next years' calendar etc in)
Beer/glass sets
Some choccies (mars, yorkie, toblerone, other manly things
)
Shower gel, deo, bubble bath etc (saved me ever having to worry about it)
Socks, pants, pyjamas (again, not something I'd get round to)
Cleaning supplies for the car
Maybe some miniatures of JD, whiskeys etc
When I was smaller I got computer game magazines with demo CDs on
Chocolate money (obviously
)
Couple of trivia books, QI, that kinda thing.
Then just a couple of random stocking fillers - puzzles, PC accessories...just random stuff that would probably be thrown away after a couple of plays...0 -
Condoms.
You'll thank me later.0 -

Second this. DH has one attached to his house key, you can buy them online at Amazon as well as other places. Along similar lines, both my children have small pocket sized whistles on a keyring, that we bought as soon as they started going out independently (walking home from school.) If your daughter doesn't have one, I'd buy one for her that she can attach to the bag she takes to college. Gives me peace of mind anyway.
When I was about your older children's age, I can clearly recall a Maglite torch being in my stocking. They're not something (even now) I could get excited about buying myself, but very useful.
Hairdryer for your daughter? (I think I got one the same year as the torch!) You say she's not into makeup, but would she appreciate some lip balm? I saw a lovely Coca-Cola set in Claire's the other day that I thought was great; I also really like the big Vaseline tin with 3 different varieties inside. Primark are great for hairclips, scarfs, comfy socks and other tidbits. What about hobbies? Jewellery making supplies, wool for knitting, vouchers in line with hobbies etc?
I think the key to great stockings is for them to contain fun, edible or interest related items. I wouldn't tend to buy too many everyday (toiletry) items, but fewer items that are clearly presents. Ours contain 10-20 items in a small stocking that wouldn't be able to fit a dressing gown for example (that would be one of the 3 main gifts we give ours, to represent frankincense, gold & myrrh.)
Stockings in our house always contain a few edible items: chocolate coins & a Terry's orange are mandatory. I then try to find a few unusual sweets, or a range of their favourites (eg if one person loved mints I'd buy lots of different types of mints) and probably something seasonal. Last year one of my children received Scottie dog shortbread biscuits for example; this year it's Aero mint Christmas trees.
Fun things: Nerf guns? A few items from Hawkins Bazaar, IWOOT, Firebox etc. Camping gear or survival items for your sons? A firelighting key (can't think of it's proper name but something you use to create spark to start a fire.)
And last but not least, Beano annuals!:rotfl:0 -

I still buy my boys lego at the ages of 2x18 1x17 and 1x15. Every year it gets built as well.:)Paul Walker , in my dreams;)0 -
For the older girl, if she's out and about with her friends, how about a gift card for Starbucks or Costa? My DD is just 14 and would love one of these so she can feel all sophisticated.
