How can I find out what time the concert will end?

We've bought tickets to take our DD and her friend to see The Wanted at the O2 arena next March, for her birthday.
We've never been to the O2 before and haven't been to a concert in 30 years! (:o)

I'm trying to find out an approximate finish time for the concert.

We originally planned to stay at a hotel overnight and get the train home (from Stratford) the next day but now my daughter's friend has to get back for work the following morning so I'm trying to find out whether we can make it back to Stratford (Jubilee Line) in time for the last train (departs 23.38).

Different websites give different times for the start of the concert, although I've been told this may be because different areas of seating are admitted at different times (?)
Without a start time, estimating a finish time is tricky.

Can anyone please advise whether there is a 'standard' or 'normal' start/finish/duration for a concert like this please?

Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

Concerts ive been to at the 02 tend to finish between 22:30 and 23:00. As long as the jubillee line is running ok its only a couple of stops from North Grenwhich shouldnt think youd have an issue getting to stratford for 23:38. HTH. Have you tried ringing the box office and asking them for timings?

    Thanks for your reply
I've only tried once and got no answer, but I'll try again.

I've read all sorts of stories about massive queues to get into North Greenwich - is that true or are they over-exagerated? (20,000 people all turning out at the same time.... how efficiently can that be dealt with?)

i've always found it a pretty painless experience. they are well organised and people keep moving, much better than getting out of Wembley. most people will be travelling the other way too so you shouldnt have a prob getting onto the tube

Most concerts finish around 10.30pm. It can be very busy getting out to the tube but it is dealt with very well. You'll be going the other way to about 85% of the traffic and Stratford will be easy to get to before 23.38.
I quite often use this route to get away from the venue instead of the north bound then use the central line to get across town.
The trains are frequent so no problem there either.

    Have a great time.

Check with the box office, but the venue and licensing probably dictate a curfew, typically 10:30. Running over licensed curfew is expensive, so it is usually a pretty safe bet for things to end on time.

I remember coming out of the o2 once, it was all moving along nicely. There was a busker in the tube station, and everyone was singing along to the song they were playing! Can't remember what it was, but it was something catchy, didn't think I'd hear so many 30 Seconds to Mars fans singing a cheesy/catchy song lol
  • The approx start and finish time for the show will be on the O2 site about a week before but I don't think you will have a problem getting to Stratford in time.

Whenever I've been to the O2 (going tonight actually) I usually just miss my 22.52 train from Stratford unless I leave a few minutes early.
