Been to Whsmith today for a homemade christmas present book like the retro sweet box on here or the sweet tree or the chocolate bouquets made with coloured cellophane, that type of thing but all I could find was sewing/stitching/patchwork type of books, even Kirstie had more crochet and sewing, anyone know of a good book with pictures that I can work my way through?

I have not seen any books, but have you looked on you tube for tutorials? They seem to have them for almost every craft.
If not try googling the item you want to make as a lot of people put tutorials on their blogs.
Is it the retro sweet box and sweetie tree you are interested in?
I can write a step by step guide as to how I did mine if that would help?
I am sure if you see an idea on one of the threads that you like if you just ask the poster they will help you.Cross Stitch Cafe Member No: 86 :j0 -

I think this is what you mean is it? I did this for hubby for valentines. I think it would have looked loads better with multi coloured cellophane but wasn't too disappointed for my first attempt. I put a block of oasis into the container then got some wooden skewers. I taped the stick onto the back of the chocolate bar and then put a couple of squares of cellophane around it by piercing through the middle and scrunching around the chocolate bar. I then just put the sticks into the oasis at different heights etc.

I just treated myself to this book will let you if it is any good when it arrives
If you copied becs idea but added more celophane, it would look more like the ones in those photos. Just wrap all the sticks so that only the chocolate/sweets are visible.
Otherwise really, you should join pinterest, but remember it is a US site, so you need to use candy tree/candies rather than uk vocab when doing a search0 -
I was going to say the same Tamster, mine just needed way more sweets and cellophane! Definitely think the different colour cellophane would be better as well.0
